This week, we step into the kind of love that feels comforting… yet quietly consumes. The kind that whispers, “Just one more time,” even as it drains
your strength. The kind you defend in public but wrestle with in private. The
kind of God keeps touching gently, asking,
“Will you let me have this?”
This week’s theme exposes the subtle attachments that look harmless on the
surface but slowly reshape your identity, your choices, and your peace.
It’s not about shame,
It’s about awakening.
If Week One revealed the idol…
Week Two revealed the pattern…
Week Three revealed the cost…
Week Four reveals the truth
You’ve been avoiding.
A truth that frees.
A truth that heals.
A truth that calls you back to yourself.
Forbidden Love continues
tomorrow.
Prepare your heart.

THE SANCTUARY LETTER
Week Four-Forbidden Love
Beloved,
There are some lessons God does not shout.
He lets the rise slowly-like
something you’ve been feeling for
years, but only now dare to name.
This week, the Spirit has been speaking to
me about the kind of love we rarely confess
out loud.
Not the loud love.
Not the reckless love.
But the quiet, familiar love that feels
safe…even as it steals from you.
A love that comforts your loneliness
but cost you your peace.
A love you return to because it
knows your history, even though it
cannot hold your future.
A love that feels like home but has never
helped you heal.
We call it connection.
We call it chemistry.
We call it “just how things are.”
But Heaven calls it something else.
He calls it a love that competes with Him.
A love that shapes your decisions
more than His voice does.
A love that keeps you circling the
same emotional wilderness, long
After God has opened the exit.
This week, God pressed a question
into my spirit, gentle, but unmovable:
“Will you let me have the thing you
keep returning to?”
Not because He is angry.
Not because He is disappointed.
But because He knows what it is
costing you to hold on.
He knows the nights you’ve cried
over it.
He knows the strength it takes to
pretend you’re fine.
He knows the version of you that
keeps shrinking to make room for a
love that cannot grow.
And He knows the freedom waiting
on the other side of surrender.
A reminder that God never exposes
What he does not intend to heal.
He never reveals what He will not
restore in a better form.
So if this letter finds you in a place
of wrestling.
If it finds you in a place of holding
on with one hand and letting go
with the other,
If it finds you tired of loving what
does not love you back-
You are not failing.
You are awakening.
And Heaven is closer than you think.
Forbidden Love continues this
week.
Prepare your heart for the truth that
frees.
With grace,
Debra
