SERMON: UNPREDICTABLE AND UNCERTAIN TIMES

Matthew 24: 6-8 · Psalm 46 · Hebrews 12: 26 -28

INTRODUCTION

In a world that feels increasingly unstable, Unpredictable and Uncertain Times
offers a steadying word for the soul. This message speaks to the shaking we see
around us and reminds us that God is not absent in the uncertainty-He is aligning,
revealing, and calling His people back to deeper dependence. This teaching invites
readers to anchor themselves in the unshakable Kingdom, to guard their minds, and
to walk with spiritual clarity in a world that no longer feels predictable. Unpredictability is not a sign that God has lost control. It is a sign that His Word is
unfolding.

I. What Makes These Times Unpredictable?

  1. Global Instability
    Matthew 24: 6

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars…?

The instability we see is not random.
    It is prophetic.
  2. Moral and Spiritual Confusion

2 Timothy 3: 1-5 describes the emotional climate of the last days.
People feel unanchored because their foundations are unstable.
  3. Rapid Change

Technology, politics, economics – everything is shifting faster than
people can process. Unpredictability has become the new normal
    under this presidency.

II. What God is Doing in Uncertain Times

    1. Shaking What Can Be Shaken

    Hebrews 12: 27
“…the removing of what can be shaken…”

God allows shaking to expose what is temporary.

    2. Revealing What Cannot Be Shaken

    3. Calling His People Back to Dependence

    Unpredictability times push us to:
    Pray again
    Listen again
    Discern again
    Trust again

Uncertainty is an invitation to intimacy with God,

III. How Believers Stand in Unpredictable Times

    1. Stay Anchored in the Word

    Psalm 119: 105

“Your word is a lamp to my feet…”

    When the world is unpredictable,
    The Word becomes your compass.

    2. Guard Your Heart

    Isaiah 26: 3

“You will keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on You.”

    3. Stay Spiritually Alert

    Jesus said, “Watch.”
Not in fear, but in awareness.

    4. Stay Connected to the Holy Spirit

Jesus is the only one who can guide
you through what you cannot predict.

IV. What This Means for the Church

In unpredictable times, the Church must:

Preach truth without fear
Stand firm without compromise
Love people without wavering
Discern the times without panic

This is not the Church’s weakest hour. Thisis the
Church’s appointed hour.

Conclusion

Unpredictable times do not mean God is absent.
Uncertain seasons do not mean God is confused.
Shaking does not mean destruction
– It means alignment.

Reflection Questions

1. What part of today’s world feels most unpredictable to you?
2. Where is God inviting you to trust Him more deeply?
3. What foundations in your life need strengthening?
4. How can you stay spiritually anchored this week?

🌿 The Sanctuary Letter

A Quiet Place for Clarity, Healing, and Spiritual Alignment
from the heart of Debra Stith

Beloved,

There is a particular weight in the air these days- an unspoken heaviness
that sits on the chest and whispers,“Nothing feels stable anymore.”
People are moving through life with a quiet tremble, trying to hold themselves
together while the world around them keeps shifting without warning.

If you’ve been feeling that, you’re not alone. And you are not losing your footing.
You’re discerning the times.

Jesus told us that days like these would come, not to frighten us, but to prepare
us. He wanted us to understand that unpredictability is not a sign of God’s
absence.
It is a sign of His movement.

We are living in a season where God is allowing the shaking of everything that
cannot hold us. Not to destroy us, but to reveal what is eternal.

The shaking exposes what was temporary. The shaking awakens what was
asleep. The shaking reigns what drifted out of place.

And in the middle of it all, God whispers,
“Come closer. Trust Me here.”

These uncertain times are not meant to overwhelm you-they are meant to anchor
you. They are meant to pull you back into prayer, back into discernment, back into
the quiet place where God steadies your breathing and strengthens your heart.

You don’t have to predict the times. You don’t have to understand every headline.
You don’t have to carry the weight of the world.

You only have to stay connected to the One who cannot be shaken.

So this week, I invite you to slow down.
Breathe.
Let the noise fall away.
Let the Spirit settle your mind.
Let the Word become your compass again.

Because even in unpredictable times, you are held by an unchanging God.

With clarity, peace, and spiritual alignment,
Debra
